WELCOME BACK TO THE AVON!
The AVON THEATRE IS OPEN EVERYDAY, with a great mix of films on our two big screens. Because nothing is more important than your health and comfort, the Avon has a safety plan that exceeds the recommendations of the CDC and State of Connecticut:
- Though permitted to seat 50% of capacity, we have limited ourselves to 40%. We have blocked off every other row and require at least three empty seats between groups. There is plenty of room in our large theaters to comfortably keep your distance!
- We have not only increased the amount of fresh air coming into the building through our ventilation systems, but we have also installed state of the art MERV 13 HEPA Air Filters.
- No one is granted admission without wearing a mask which must be worn throughout the building. We have masks available for those who arrive without one.
- The floors throughout the theater are appropriately marked to enable social distancing, and our Box Office and Concession are both surrounded by plexiglass shields.
- We are scheduling at least two hours between screenings to provide ample time for cleaning throughout the day. We have an additional professional cleaning every night.
- Though not required by law, we are taking each patron’s temperature with an infrared thermometer, asking anyone with a fever to return when they are well.
- We encourage online tickets sales and the use of credit cards at the concession to minimize touch points. Staff is cleaning and disinfecting all touchable surfaces throughout the day.
