Michel Legrand was the composer of some of the most famous scores of cinema (F for Fake, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, The Thomas Crown Affair to name a few). In the same vein, he moved from arrangement to composition, from jazz to classical, from New Wave to Hollywood, where he won three Oscars and 5 Grammys. He collaborated with renowned French and American filmmakers (Godard, Welles, Varda) but also with jazzmen (Miles Davis, John Coltrane) and singers (Barbra Streisand, Frank Sinatra, Boris Vian). This documentary tells the surreal journey of this elusive artist whose life and career were multifaceted.
