The Avon Theatre Film Center will receive a $500,000 grant from the Good to Great Grant program, co-administered by the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) and CT Humanities. The grant will support the Avon reCreated renovation campaign, helping the theatre to reconfigure its existing layout to create a smaller, more intimate auditorium that will be utilized for film-making classes, poetry slams, niche films, and other activities.
We are thrilled to welcome Peter H. Gistelinck as the new Executive Director of the Avon Theatre Film Center, effective July 1, 2023.
Gistelinck joins the Avon Theatre from Berkeley Heights, NJ, where he was Executive Director of the renowned Wharton Institute for the Performing Arts, the largest performing arts after-school education program in the state of New Jersey, from 2019 through 2023. His full bio can be viewed here.
